Our doctors see new babies at St. Luke’s Hospital and St. Luke’s East. Not delivering at one of these hospitals? We will still be happy to see your family!
If you would like one of our pediatricians to see your new baby in the hospital, just simply let the admitting team know, once you arrive at the hospital. We will take care of the rest.
Our doctors will visit your baby each morning during your stay at the hospital. We will perform a detailed physical exam, review any test results, answer your questions, and prepare your child for discharge.
While at the hospital, expect your baby to receive the current standard of newborn care from the nursery. This will include essential initial newborn care, your baby’s first vaccine, healthy heart screening, hearing screening, and a blood test for jaundice and metabolic diseases.
We encourage every mother to visit with the lactation team provided by the hospital. The team will be able to answer any breastfeeding questions you may have, as well as observe your baby’s first feedings to set you up for breastfeeding success.
